DRAG RACE ENTRY FEE
- Price is $395 per car and includes entry for one registered car into the drag race portion of the event and allows the driver access to Texas Motorplex for all 6 days of the event. This is NON-REFUNDABLE, however you may request to transfer your entry if your car cannot make it (acceptance of transfer not guaranteed, subject to approval by Peter B. and until 2/1/25 – NO EXCEPTIONS TO THE DEADLINE, NO SELLING SPOTS PAST THE DEADLINE, NO SWAPPING DRIVERS/CARS PAST THE DEADLINE). Keep in mind that non-refundable means that if the weather ends up cancelling the event, there are NO refunds.
- Price is $500 for DAY OF EVENT entries and only IF AVAILABLE. This allows the driver into the event for all 6 days or however many days is remaining. There are NO refunds on gate passes even if you choose to add a car later.
ATTIRE/SAFETY RULES
- EVERY DRIVER is expected to have a SA2015 or SA2020 CAR HELMET, no motorcycle helmets allowed. All drivers must have closed toe shoes, long pants and long sleeve shirts. No loose items allowed in the car cabin.
- 140+ trap cars: all of the above plus fire rated gloves and fire rated jacket.
- 160+ trap cars: all of the above plus fire rated pants and fire rated shoes.
- 185+ trap cars: all of the above plus head/neck restraint system that meets SFI 38.1 AND used according to that manufacturers recommendation (HANS, Z-Tech, Simpson, Schroth, Impact, etc). Furthermore any car that traps over 185 mph and has brakes that are smaller in diameter than came with the car OEM, must have a functional parachute and must have the pin pulled for all drag passes.
- We strongly recommend to match build construction of tires for front and rear
- If you have bias ply rear, you should have bias ply front.
- If you have radial rear, you should have radial front.

DRAG RACING CLASSES
- Rules for ALL Classes, every car in every class, WITHOUT EXCEPTION, must abide by these rules. These rules are in addition to the class specific rules below:
- Turbo crossbolts 3” from the turbine wheel (hotside).
- Vehicles with STOCK LOCATION turbos and FULL length exhausts, exiting the factory location are STRONGLY encouraged to have crossbolts – this will be a requirement for TX2K26
- Vehicles with aftermarket turbo locations or added turbos require crossbolts – for safety they are mandatory. If they are not visible during inspection a photo must be available during tech.
- Engine pan OR engine diaper mandatory on all cars – diaper must provide full engine coverage, pan must have at least 2″ lip AND a liquid absorbent pad at bottom of pan. Note some classes have more specific restrictions listed below.
- No coolant allowed, water only, no water wetter allowed. This includes cooling systems and “interchillers”. If your car leaks coolant on the track, you will be removed from the event and potentially banned from future TX2K events.
- Tires sizes are always checked by sidewall designation, and not by measurements posted on the tire manufacturer’s website.
- If your car has a parachute – the pin MUST be pulled prior to you staging on EVERY pass.
- Turbo crossbolts 3” from the turbine wheel (hotside).

- Exhibition Class – PRO TREE
- NOTES: This is an unregulated exhibition class for people who are simply coming to TX2K to run a record ET and/or MPH. The intent here is to have a class for shop cars, big build and high profile cars that are out to set records without running eliminations. Spots for this class will be limited and must be approved by Peter B.
- 2JZ vs The World (One field of 16 cars in eliminations) – PRO Tree
- New for TX2K25 – This is for the baddest of the bad street/race cars to have a place to race one another.
- Minimum ET Requirement
- Minimum ET requirement of 7.399 to enter class.
- Tire Rules
- Slicks or DOT bias ply tires are limited to 28”x11.5”
- Radials limited to 275/60/15
- Exception: 4Cyl or Rotary powered May run up to 32.0”x14.5” or 33″x10.5W”
- Turbo Rules
- Turbos will be measured in tech at the inducer of the compressor, may be measured anytime during the event using measuring wheels. Vehicles must be willing to remove compressor covers if challenged.
- Max Twin Turbo: T4 86mm
- Max Single Turbo: 111mm
- Chassis Rules
- Wheelbase – Must be within 2” of PUBLISHED FACTORY WHEELBASE for the year and model of the car.
- Body Rules
- Factory appearing quarter panels and roof.
- Light weight materials are acceptable.
- Minimum Weight With Driver
- V8 – 2900 lb.
- 6Cyl – 2650 lb.
- 4cyl/Rotary – 1900 lb.
- Window Rules
- OEM glass and lexan windows are permitted.
- If you are using aftermarket doors or lexan windows, then a steel frame around the lexan window or a window latch is required.
- Engine Rules
- No big blocks allowed.
- DCT CLASS (Three fields of 16 cars in eliminations) – Sportsman Tree
- This class includes any car that comes with a DCT from the factory, it’s designed for Porsche 911 Turbo, McLaren, Huracan, R8, GTR, GT500. Full interior required (both front seats – can be aftermarket, carpet, dash, back seats – assuming they came that way from factory, functioning a/c, factory glass), exterior must have all OEM body panels but carbon hood/roof/trunk are permitted, no mechanical fuel pumps allowed, no methanol fuel allowed, no nitrous allowed (no bottles allowed in any part of the car). No turbo size/mounting restrictions (see below for GTR specific rules). No coolant allowed (water only, no water wetter allowed). Engine pan OR engine diaper is required for TX2K24 and on (diaper must provide full engine coverage, pan must have at least 2″ lip and liquid absorbent pad at bottom of pan).
- Tire Rules
- 17” wheel size minimum, must run DOT tire.
- Porsche 911 Turbo may run non DOT tire (slick allowed).
- Nissan GTR specific Rules:
- Any stock location turbo kit, 58mm compressor inducer maximum
- No methanol fuel allowed, No nitrous allowed
- 15″ Minimum wheel size and 28″ maximum tire size, Slicks allowed
- 3650lb with driver minimum weight
- In addition to the engine diaper/pan requirement, a transmission diaper is required.
- Qualifying
- We will qualify cars into three 16 car brackets
- ELITE will have the 16 quickest qualifiers
- PRO will have qualifiers 17-32
- CHAMP will have qualifiers 33-48
- ET Breakout Rule
- if a car goes 0.201 seconds or quicker than the number one qualifier ET, car will be automatically disqualified.
- This ET rule does not apply to DCT Elite.
- GTR 68 (One field of 16 cars in eliminations) – Sportsman Tree
- Any stock location turbo kit, 68mm compressor inducer maximum
- No nitrous allowed.
- 15” min wheel size and 28” maximum tire size allowed.
- 3550 lb with driver min weight requirement.
- In addition to the engine diaper/pan requirement, a transmission diaper is required.
- GTR Unlimited (One field of 16 cars in eliminations) – Sportsman Tree
- Any turbo kit allowed, no compressor inducer maximum
- no min weight requirement
- In addition to the engine diaper/pan requirement, a transmission diaper is required.
- x58 Class – (One field of 16 cars in eliminations) – PRO Tree
- The rules will be very simple:
- Any vehicle that came from the factory with a B58 or S58 motor (MKV Supra and various BMW’s). Must be stock chassis.
- Original transmission case required (internals can be modified/built).
- The rules will be very simple:
- Street Car Class (Four fields of 16 cars in eliminations) – PRO Tree
- This class can and should include GTRs, Vettes, Porsches, Vipers, Supras, Camaros, Mustangs, etc…any car is welcome to run in this class so long as the car meets the rules below:
- Minimum ET requirement of 8.499 to enter class.
- Must have present and current proof of registration, license plate and valid insurance as any street legal car would. No full tube frame cars allowed, front half and back half cars will be considered on a per car basis, No single piece front ends will be allowed, this includes single piece front ends that have been cut to be “multiple” pieces
- Factory Style Headlights and brake lights must exist and be operational (one of each may be removed during competition for any reason after passing tech).
- Must return from a pass on its own power under normal use (breaking and being towed back will not DQ if the car is able to be safely repaired).
- Functioning cooling system required.
- Must have a hood. Cutout for turbo’s or blower is permitted. Hood must cover the majority of the engine bay (TBD by tech) and must latch (doesn’t need to utilize OEM latch location or latches).

- Tire Rules
- Drag Radial or Bias Ply no larger than 30″ x 11.5″ or 315/60/15
- Exception: any wheel size 17″ and greater may run up to a 355 wide tire.
- Any car that has an h-pattern manual transmission may run a slick no larger than 28″ x 10.50W
- Qualifying
- At TX2K25, we will qualify cars into four 16 car brackets
- ELITE will have the 16 quickest qualifiers
- PRO will have qualifiers 17-32,
- CHAMP will have qualifiers 33-48
- SPORT will have qualifiers 49-64.
- ET Breakout rule
- if a car goes 0.201 seconds or quicker than the number one qualifier ET, car will be automatically disqualified
- This rule does NOT apply to the Street Car Elite Class.
- At TX2K25, we will qualify cars into four 16 car brackets
- Stick Shift Challenge (One field of 16 cars in eliminations) – PRO Tree
- The only rules we have are that you must run an H pattern factory based transmission.
- Minimum ET requirement of 8.999 to enter class.
- No automatic or sequentials allowed.
- Any car make/model allowed.
- No full tube chassis cars allowed.
- HeavyWEIGHT (One field of 16 cars in eliminations) – PRO Tree
- No GTR’s or Mustangs
- Minimum Weight With Driver
- All categories carry a minimum weight of 4,000 Lbs with driver.
- Must have a hood
- MAXIMUM BALLAST WEIGHT IS 200 LBS.
- Ballast must be secured and strapped during tech and during all runs.
- Options
- Option 1: all motor or
- motor with nitrous
- motor with supercharger
- motor with supercharger and nitrous +200 lb (4200)
- Option 2
- Single turbo, 88mm compressor inducer limit
- Single Turbo, 88mm with nitrous +200 lb (4200)
- Option 3
- Twin turbos 72mm compressor inducer limit
- Twin turbos 72mm compressor inducer with nitrous + 200 lb (4200)
- Option 1: all motor or
- Class is open to all straight axle or IRS cars and trucks using only the factory chassis. Axle swaps (IRS to straight or straight to IRS) are permitted.
- Must have present and current proof of registration, license plate and valid insurance as any street legal car would. No full tube frame cars (back half or front half cars will be considered on a car by car basis). No single piece front ends will be allowed.
- Headlights and brake lights must exist and be operational.
- Must return from a pass on it’s own power under normal use (breaking and being towed back will not DQ if the car is able to be safely repaired).
- No Lexan windows allowed.
- Tires must be DOT approved (this includes the FRONT and the REAR tires). 30″ rear tire diameter maximum as listed on the sidewall. Any wheel size 17″ diameter and greater may run up to a 355mm wide tire as listed on the sidewall, but it must be a drag radial.
- No tubs or mini tubs allowed.
